Bruce Watkins

Founder, President and
CEO

Bruce started the initial version of the company (West Bay Wood Care) in 1987 while attending the University of California at Berkeley (Cal). His major was Bio-Resource Science, and he initially pursued a medical career. During college, he spent five years as a student trainer for the Cal Football Team and two summers building high-end decks as a carpenter. This experience inspired him to start a deck preservation business. Over the years, Bruce has merged his construction skills with insights into wood preservation to establish one of the most well-rounded exterior wood care companies in the industry.

Kasia Watkins

Business Development and Accounting

Kasia joined Cal Preserving in 2009 after earning a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Warsaw University of Technology, Poland. With her engineering background and meticulous attention to detail, she has significantly improved company operations. Kasia handles daily tasks, manages accounting, and drives business development. Her expertise has streamlined processes and supported the company’s growth, making her an invaluable member of the team. Cal Preserving continues to benefit from her dedication and forward-thinking strategies.

Garrison (Gary) Hills

Gary joined Cal Preserving in 2006 as a field technician, leveraging his carpentry experience from working with a general contractor. After five years in the field mastering the company’s processes, he moved into the office to focus on estimating and sales. Gary’s thorough understanding of exterior wood care has made him essential to business development and customer service. His expertise ensures accurate evaluations, clear communication, and solutions tailored to every project’s needs, making him a cornerstone of Cal Preserving’s success.
